With the onset of Covid-19, lakhs of families were affected- directly and indirectly- due to limited access to basic necessities. The foundation launched various initiatives in the Tricity area and for the Hartek staff members as the city grappled with the second and third wave of the virus infection. The months of April-June (2021) were especially tough as the country faced the second wave of covid infections along with extreme oxygen shortage, increasing deaths and an overall sense of doom.
We constantly engage with the sarpanch, panchayat secretary and local community members to establish our relationship, understand their needs and create our project plans based on their custom requirements. Our planned initiatives include (but not limited to):
65% of India’s population is rural and we believe this is the hub for social development
opportunities. We have legally adopted Village Raipur (Punjab) and our aim is to create this village
into a model SMART VILLAGE. This a small village and hence has been neglected as it does not even
have a dispensary, dedicated Asha worker or proper sanitation practices.
